Registration Opens For The 4th Annual Goodman Interlink Magic Mile Charity Ramp Run On 22 March

HONG KONG, CHINA - Media OutReach5 February 2015 - Goodman is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the fourth Goodman Interlink Magic Mile, which will be held at its flagship property, in Tsing Yi, Hong Kong on Sunday, 22 March 2015.

The Goodman Interlink Magic Mile is an annual one-mile charity run, in which participants will race up the 15-floor cargo ramp of Goodman Interlink. This year, Goodman will partner with Feeding Hong Kong, the first food bank in Hong Kong dedicated to redistributing surplus food to people in need. This unique event has in previous years attracted sponsors such as Macquarie, ING Bank, HSBC, Allen & Overy, CBRE, King & Wood Mallesons, Knight Frank, Savills, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

The event's main goal is to raise HK$1 million for Feeding Hong Kong to enable the purchase of a ten-ton truck and cover its on-road cost for two years. The truck will be used to deliver surplus bread and breakfast to school children and allow more schools to be added to their Breakfast Club's food run. It will also greatly improve delivery efficiency and maximise the reach for all of the charity's initiatives. In addition to cash donations, Goodman's staff will also volunteer for the charity, helping with the collection and delivery of food.

Philip Pearce, Managing Director, Greater China for Goodman, said, "We are immensely proud to be partnering with Feeding Hong Kong and to continue making a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate. Feeding Hong Kong is a charity we believe our fundraising efforts can make a significant difference to, and we fully support the organisation in the terrific work they do."

Mr Pearce added, "The Goodman Interlink Magic Mile has been generously supported by many of our customers and business partners in the past and I hope that this year we can attract the same kind of generosity from our sponsors, which will enable us to reach our fundraising target for 2015. We would like to encourage everyone to support this worthwhile cause and join us for a morning of fun-filled activities."

Gabrielle Kirstein, Executive Director of Feeding Hong Kong, said, "All of us at Feeding Hong Kong are proud to be associated with such a wonderful event and are honoured to be its beneficiary. The awareness and funding that the Goodman Interlink Magic Mile is raising in support of feeding people in need and reducing food waste to landfill is invaluable. It will make an incredible difference to our Food Bank, and the people who benefit from our daily deliveries of fresh and nutritious food. I would like to thank Goodman and everyone involved for their remarkable support."

The race this year will comprise three categories: family teams, corporate teams and individuals. As is tradition, participants who come in fancy dress will be in the running to win prizes for the best-dressed team or individual. In addition to the run, there will be a range of fun activities such as live stage performances and children's entertainment.

Feeding Hong Kong is a local charity set up in 2009 to collect, sort, store and distribute donated food to the Hong Kong community. Its prime purpose is to fight hunger in the city while at the same time reducing the amount of quality food that is wasted. The organisation also works to raise awareness about poverty, food insecurity and food waste in Hong Kong, as well as to promote healthy eating habits and nutrition in our most vulnerable communities.
